The infant/child SMART pads cartridge is designed for use in conjunction with the Philips HeartStart HS1 defibrillator. When fitted, the HeartStart HS1 recognises that the patient requires CPR and energy shock levels suitable for children under 8 years of age and automatically adjusts its guidelines and treatment accordingly. The SMART pads cartridge contains 1 pair of electrodes and has clear pictorial positioning instructions. • For use with the Philips HeartStart HS1 defibrillator • Designed for infants/children 1 to 8 years old or less than 55lbs in weight • Single cartridge contains 1 pair of adhesive electrode pads • Clear pictorial fitting instructions assist the responder during treatment • 2 year Electrode Pad Lifespan • Ideal to keep with the defibrillator in case of an infant/child medical emergency • Unit recognises when the cartridge has been installed • Ensures defibrillation and CPR settings are changed to suit • Reduces the energy shock level to 50 joules
