What is it?

A Barbed broach is an instrument used to remove pulp tissue during endodontic (root canal) treatment

What is it used for?

A broach is really nothing more than a small piece of barbed wire that is used to engage the pulp and attempt to remove it in its entirety. The broach is used to extirpate the vital pulp. It is introduced into the pulp and rotated so that the barbs engage the tissue.
